The name Dark Mirror resonates with this piece on multiple levels. In the most obvious way, it connects with the physical properties of the reflective, dark blue sunglasses the subject is wearing. On a deeper, subtle level, it also explores the importance of having a significant figure in your life who is willing to take on the task of reflecting the darkest aspects of yourself back to you. Like a fish is to water, it is often hard for us to see our greatest flaws without the assistance of an external force. It is only once we are aware of these faults, that we may conquer and improve upon them.
